Florida Life + an 8 month old

It's hard to believe it's already October! That may be in part due to fa ct that it feels like summer still. We went to the bea ch this week and it was warm enough to play in the water. We do have a hurri cane  coming so I guess life in Florida isn't perfe ct 100% of the time, but we've been enjoying it so far. We have made some good friends and are enjoying being driving distan ce to mu ch of our family! Thomas is 8 months, going on 3 years old. He thinks he  can do everything Russell  can do and he usually has little interest in baby toys, preferring whatever Russell likes instead. He's  crawling all over the house and is also standing with support and  climbing whatever he  can manage with his tiny little body. He's a small thing but very determined. I'm learning every day that he and Russell are not the same person! There are tons of personality differen ces between them, but one thing they have in  common is their love for ea ch other. They...

Graduation + More

During the second week of May we had a bunch of family come stay with us for Ricardo's graduation/Thomas' baby blessing, which was a lot of fun. Prior to all of these festivities, I was spoiled for Mother's Day with delicious homemade breakfast and dinner, cheesecake, and handmade kitchen hot pads with my two little boys' hand and footprints. This has been something we've been working for since we were first married, starting with studying for the DAT together, to all the applications and interviews, and then all the craziness of balancing school, work, and kids over the past 4 years of dental school. In the end it's bittersweet to be done because it really has been such a great chapter of our lives. We're so glad we ended up here in Philadelphia and at Temple. It has been the perfe...

Blog catch-up: Utah Vacation

I'm so behind on blogging again! Life is starting to slow down a little bit so hopefully I  can start to  cat ch up. Ba ck in May we  went to Utah for my little sister's wedding. We had su ch a great va cation.  We had a super busy schedule and didn't really have any downtime on the trip, but it was great. We were able to do so much! We haven't been back to Utah together since we lived there when we were first married and it was so fun to go back. Utah is growing like crazy and we were amazed at all of the changes that have occurred over the past 6 years. It's so beautiful in the summer too. Some highlights of the trip in cluded the wedding festivities of  course, a trip to BYU, and  cat ching up with lots of old friends.  We are so grateful for all the kind friends and family who hosted us, fed us, and spent time with us. It was so wonderful to see all of you! My finger is in this picture but here are cousins enjoying BYU c...
