It's hard to believe it's already October! That may be in part due to fact that it feels like summer still. We went to the beach this week and it was warm enough to play in the water. We do have a hurricane coming so I guess life in Florida isn't perfect 100% of the time, but we've been enjoying it so far. We have made some good friends and are enjoying being driving distance to much of our family!
Thomas is 8 months, going on 3 years old. He thinks he can do everything Russell can do and he usually has little interest in baby toys, preferring whatever Russell likes instead. He's crawling all over the house and is also standing with support and climbing whatever he can manage with his tiny little body. He's a small thing but very determined. I'm learning every day that he and Russell are not the same person! There are tons of personality differences between them, but one thing they have in common is their love for each other. They are so sweet to watch together and it's so fun to see them interact.
Russell started a once/week preschool, which I trade off teaching with some church friends. He loves it and looks forward to it every week. It is a lot of fun to see him excited about learning. We started keeping a journal of funny things that he says and I don't have a chance to write everything down, but he is always entertaining us.
Ricardo is a proud dad, Thomas enjoys brushing his teeth, unlike Russell at this age. I think it tickles him because he starts laughing every time.
King Russell
Just soaking up some sun at the pool. I love that they're holding hands.
My birthday was in August and we ended up taking a short weekend trip back to Philly to attend the temple open house as a graduation gift for Ricardo. We loved touring the temple, it is so beautiful! We also got to see a few good friends and Russell especially was excited about that. He loves "Philly-a-delphia" as he calls it and still talks about it a lot. It will also hold a special place in our hearts. I barely took any pictures on the trip because it was so busy but here's Russell on the plane.
We went to a BYU-Utah football game party and made BYU cookies. Until next year Utah...
He loves pirates lately and we went to a library storytime about pirates where he made the eyepatch. Ricardo helped make him a treasure map. This was all just in time for Krispy Kreme's talk like a pirate day and we enjoyed our free donuts for several days afterward!
Visiting Grandma and Grandpa. Thomas loves my dad and will actually sit still for him!
Reading books with his great-Grandma, who was visiting from Utah while we were last at my mom's house.
Fall fun!
It's a blurry picture because he's actually riding it! He's crazy.
October beach day!
One day Russell woke up and wanted to be a narwhal. He's really into dressing up in different costumes lately, which is so fun.
Who is the baby here?
Ricardo is the best dad ever. He bought a giant box of popsicle sticks to make crafts with Russell. They've made a watchtower for the paw patrol, a helicopter, a house, and several other fun things. It's never-ending fun because it's a reallly big box.
We took a day trip to Amelia Island with some friends and enjoyed seeing the ships on the harbor, yummy cuban food, and the beach.
We explored Ft. caroline, a very old French fort very close to our house. Russell wanted to wear his pirate costume and got a lot of smiles. We were looking for treasure on our hike.
Happy fall!

Thomas in his first ride in a shopping cart. We don't go to the store too often because I usually order my groceries online (they have free pickup at walmart and it has changed my life). But- we did go to Home Depot with Ricardo and they had a blast riding around together.
