As always, it's so sad that summer is coming to an end! We packed in a lot of fun, friends, and family. So much is not even pictured, like the endless playdates and pool hours. Ana is swimming so well and is so fun to watch with her siblings in the pool.
Thomas did a basketball camp this summer with his buddy.
Endless 3D printing and lots of photos on my phone of all their creations.
Vacation bible school with her buddies.
She is looking so old these days! And also thinks she is a teenager.
My good friend and I were asked to be in charge of the food for our church youth girls' camp this summer. It was a busy but fun few days! If you ever need advice on feeding a crowd, I'm happy to share what we learned!
Trampoline park fun:
Why she's still so babied: even her siblings' friends carry her around all the time.
Lots of late-night game nights.
Kids just feel comfortable lying down anywhere :)
Aquarium day!
Ana is the queen of scary faces.
Friends' bday at the arcade:
Beach day!
Ricardo and I went down to Ft Lauderdale to attend the temple one weekend and the kids stayed at Ricardo's sister's house with their cousins. Loving on the baby kittens she had there.
The kids and I also took a quick trip to Jax to see our good friends there.
Always a very long game of Risk or Axis and Allies when we are there. Luckily, they all have the patience for it!
And some fun at our old stomping grounds
Fun GoPro photos from Meghan!
Buddies for almost a decade:
We came home for our 4th of July church breakfast and bike parade. Russell helped me a lot with my bike decor station.
Ana made a bunch of laps all by herself. I was so proud of her.
Sibling dance party that afternoon.
We had a fun BBQ and swim party that night. As always, it rained on the 4th but we were still able to do a bunch of fireworks!
The boys did a fishing camp at their friends' house for a few days and had a blast. Thomas was praying every night to catch a fish, it was so cute.
We also took a quick weekend trip to Cocoa Beach with Ricardo's brother's family and their parents.
We happened to be at the beach right during an air show which was pretty cool.
Our good friends live close by, so they came to hang out with us and we met their cute baby!
We went out at night and did bioluminescent kayaking. It was fun!
The boys got to go surfing and had a great time! They also just loved swimming and boogie boarding in the big waves that we don't have on our coast!
Post beach seafood. Thomas loved trying a crab!
The boys were in a piano recital, and they did great! Everyone loves the post-recital snacks, especially Ana.
We traveled to Ottawa, Canada for a week with my parents and my sister's family. These cousins love each other so much and always love this time together.
We watched the changing of the guard at the capital.
River cruise!
They loved walking across all the canal locks they could find.
We stayed at a beautiful old house on the canal, and it was so nice. A bit cooler than home, too, which was a refreshing change of pace especially after such a hot summer here.
Cute children's museum.
Cute French cafe for lunch!
Thomas was excited to see a black squirrel.
And some bullfrogs.
Kayaking the canal was lots of fun too.
The airbnb owner also owns a horse farm so we walked next door for a fun tour.
Blue chicken eggs!
Cousin antics:
Cute window shopping
Ana and her posse:
Ana's BFF
Enjoying a cold plunge:
Story time with Grandpa:
We had a talent show one night which was really cute. These 2 told a bunch of jokes and called themselves the Canadian Comedians. Thomas and Caroline both sang cute songs and Thomas and his cousin did a little acrobat act with Ana.
Thomas always picks me flowers, even when he's out on a kayak.
Even Ana got out on a kayak (they tied a few together)
Fun hike in Quebec
We had to take a little bus to the hike-Ana's dream come true. She is dying for the day she gets to ride a school bus.
Last stop on Saturday morning to the museum of war. The boys loved it and could have stayed all day looking at all the exhibits. We just found this little play area at the very end and squeezed in a few games before heading to lunch and the airport.
Russell's designs on the plane.
After we got back we squeezed in a few more playdates with friends. Grateful to have so many good ones!
My sister's family came to visit for the very last week of summer. It was the perfect end note for summer. Our kind friends got us all into Busch Gardens one day and we had so much fun despite the heat!
I had to work one day that week so my sister kindly watched all the kids and took them to the park.
We had a big storm that night and lost power for a few hours. We did some board games and puzzles in the dark.
We also did a fun beach day with our friend and her kids!
Ricardo made sure to squeeze in some chores for all the kids on Saturday!
Birthday party for Tommy's BFF at the skat rink. Ana was so excited to finally get to skate!
We are now one week into 7th, 4th, and 2nd grades. They had a good first week! Just still adjusting to the wakeup time.
Sweet Ana cried the whole way home from the bus stop on the first day. I knew she would miss her friends!
We took a trip to the dentist now that the summer rush is over.
Super excited to have a sink her size
This past weekend our good college friends came into town for a Disney trip. We got to hang with them at my parents' house Friday night and Saturday and we had a great time! Our kids have played before and it was fun to get everyone back together. Felt like one last summer hurrah! And my parents were so kind to host all of us.
Old men in their rocking chairs watching the kids swim.
Hope everyone had a great summer!!!
