We have had so many fun things filling our time this spring! (Ricardo says probably too many fun things since this post is so long). It started with a bang with my sister’s family coming to visit for spring break. We never have spring break at the same time so it was lots of fun to spend the week together. The kids were in heaven. They camped in our yard in a tent most of the week which was awesome for the kids and also for us adults who got some peace and quiet at night!
Lots of park time!
Mini golfing:
We went to the coolest park and children’s museum in Lakeland.
We met our childhood friend and her kids at the beach, it was by far the windiest beach day I’ve ever had. There were rip tides too so we didn’t let the kids swim but they did have fun for several hours on the sand anyway! The beach always brings fun.
Dying Easter eggs:
Blueberry picking, 20 lbs picked and all eaten up in 4 days!
Cousin activities:
We found a turtle on our street!
They left the day before Easter. It was a busy Easter weekend with our church egg hunt and then Lamb of God performances all weekend. The Easter bunny brought some fun things:
It was such a great experience to participate in Lamb of God. I found myself getting distracted a few times while playing because I was watching people in the audience watch the performance. It was a great way to spend the Easter season and focus on Christ. We squeezed in Easter dinner with my in-laws on Sunday and had our new-ish tradition of loaves and fishes which we love.
Lamb of God cast feast:
I'm on the right by the cellos, my keyboard didn't fit into this photo!
April Fools Day, Russell had fun planning a trick on his class that his teacher was leaving. She kindly helped him pull it off. He purposely misspelled the school admins’ names so he wasn’t really forging their signatures. :)
Ana is growing up, finally talking more and acting more like a toddler than a baby.
Still gets babied by her siblings though. Caroline has been so sweet with her lately. Ana climbs into her bed often during the night or when she wakes up in the morning.
She makes a lot of messes but at the same time loves to clean up. She does not like having her hands dirty and will always find a way to wash them.
Someone lost their front tooth! It was loose but she made it worse in a little bike crash so her dad pulled it out to finish the job.
You never know where you will find them reading.
Got to go with Thomas on a field trip to the pioneer museum. We had a lot of fun!
In April we went camping at one of Florida’s springs. Ricardo and I both used to come here growing up and we came once when we first started dating too. It was fun to bring the kids back. We camped with several other families and had a great time!
Forgot her swimsuit, oops!
Reading books in the morning, waiting for mom to give them attention.
She got some hand-me-downs from one of Russell’s friends and was so excited!
They filled our pool but we had to wait for 10 days for the chemicals to be adjusted to convert our well water into pool water. They were all dying to jump in!
The boys did a kids triathlon at a water park. Such a fun experience for them! Caroline wasn’t old enough this year but wants to do it next year!
Their group of friends who did it with them.
Post-race breakfast!
Then we spent the day at the water park, lots of fun for all. Didn't get any photos besides this snack break. Ana and Caroline loved the lazy river the most and we spent a lot of time doing that.
Kindergarten is almost over so there are lots of themed, fun days! Disney day was one of her favorites.
Cowgirl day:
Kindergarten field trip to the childrens museum.
End of year music recital. Love this program! And so sad our teacher is moving this summer!
She is finally interested in her balance bike so it’s been fun to go on little rides with her.
Caroline and Ricardo went on a daddy daughter camp out organized by a friend of ours. They had a great time.:)
Dinner en route to camping:
Craft time:
Ana didn't get to go this year, maybe next year!
We got some roosters!
Peach picking with friends!
A cute friend had a tea party Caroline got to go to one Friday night.
Another front tooth lost! She's way ahead in losing teeth and is catching up to Thomas.
The pool is in full swing and the kids have been swimming every spare moment. While the older 3 claim to never be tired, Ana sometimes crashes after too much fun.
Trampoline time with some of her friends:
Russell had a special birthday, turning 11 on the 11th! Had to be a Harry Potter theme since Harry was 11 when he first went to Hogwarts. Thanks to a great friend with lots of HP props and another great friend who previously played on a real quidditch team in college, Russell had the coolest party ever!
Getting the rundown on quidditch rules
Spectators
Post-party fun
Tommy caught the Harry Potter bug recently, and Russell always has it 😃.
Lots of end of end-of-school-year activities, lunches at school:
Russell got to be one of the announcers for the school talent show.
He also got to go on a 5th grade field trip to Islands of Adventure. He had a blast!
Tommy’s end-of-year project about Brazil.
Did a Saturday temple trip with lots of friends and we all traded off babysitting. It was a fun day!
We did get caught in a bad storm towards the end and all the kids took shelter under a picnic table.
Last day of elementary school!
5th grade graduation! Russell was asked to be the student speaker, I only have video, not a picture, but here he is walking to get his certificate and hug the principal. He was really excited about his speech and it was so fun to see his friends cheering him on.
Tommy wanted to make watermelon juice so we made it. He is definitely our little foodie. When we got back from the trip I’m about to talk about one of the first things he asked was, “what did you eat??”
Thanks to Ricardo’s mom watching our kids we were able to take a trip to the Virgin Islands for a few days. The end of the school year is always a slow time for Ricardo at work so it was a good time to get away. St John was beautiful and we had a great time!
Can’t beat these beaches!

Found some cute crabs on our hikes:
Wishing all a fun-filled summer!
snorkeling at the beach sounds amazing....and seaturtles. That's on my bucket list is to see a wild turtle swimming in the ocean.
