Once again, 2 months have flown by in the blink of an eye, without any approval from me. Sweet little Ana is 4 months old and is just the best. I wish babies could stay 4 months old forever-they're so sweet and easy to take care of.
Back when she was tiny 2 months ago!
The siblings have not tired of her and are always fighting over whose turn it is to hold her or play with her.
Caroline's baby gets provided with diapers, bottles, the works. A few times I've found her in Ana's bed when I've gone to put her to sleep. I realized that since I went back to work, Caroline is the one in the family who has spent the most time with Ana, so she knows what she's doing! She asked me the other day if I could leave and she could babysit. :) Thomas is also super involved and will often change diapers without being asked. Russell also loves her and helps a lot but he will never ever touch a diaper!
Random photo to share but I want to remember how often the kids pick flowers for mom.
They're also usually pretty good about entertaining themselves if they get up before me in the mornings. Just today I woke up and Thomas had cooked oatmeal for everyone while I was still asleep. I am impressed/a little concerned by that because of the fire hazard, especially since Caroline was his assistant! But he actually did a great job and even cleaned up and put his pot in the sink. Another day I came downstairs and found Russell reading and Caroline "reading." There are also plenty of times they wake me up and bug me, but it's nice that some days they let me sleep in a little!
She is just our little doll, she's getting so happy and smiley and is so easy-going and puts up with all the antics from her siblings. She has started to hold her little hands together all the time, which is so cute and she's babbling all the time, sometimes really really loudly. I can only imagine where she learned that.
First pool day!
Ricardo felt bad he missed out on spring break, so he planned a fishing trip for the boys when he had a random day off in April. They had a blast and caught a lot of fish!
We had a great Easter, one of the best ever. The weekend before Easter we had a fun Easter egg hunt at church/cupcake decorating.
Also had a pre-Easter get together at Ricardo's mom's house that Sunday with another Easter egg hunt there with cousins.
On Good Friday we went blueberry picking-always brings back good memories of Yakima!
Ricardo took a half day and we went to Orlando and were able to go to the temple thanks to my mom babysitting. We also did a Passover dinner with my mom since it was also Passover that day. We learned a lot and really enjoyed it especially since we are learning about the Old Testament this year. It really added to our Easter weekend and made it extra special. On Saturday morning we did yet another egg hunt in my parents' yard.
Dying Easter eggs! Tried a new method this year.
Easter Sunday! The kids sang at church and did a great job.
Ricardo's family came here for Easter dinner and we had loaves and fishes (from the fishing trip). It was delicious and may be a new Easter tradition.
Morning antics before school:
Decades day at school.
We went peach picking a few weekends ago. It was a beautiful day!
They found some old Halloween costumes and got a kick out of Thomas siting on Russell's shoulders so they could fit into a full-size costume.
The reptile collection is alive and well-in case anyone was wondering.
The kids got to skip school for Legoland since Ricardo had another random weekday off. Theme parks are extra awesome when no one is there!
Their school just started allowing parents to come visit for lunch. The boys were so excited for us to come once for each of them recently. There's a McDonalds nearby and apparently ALL the parents bring it when they come, or so I was informed. I found out it was true when I found myself in the front office with 20 other parents holding Happy Meals. Thomas is Mr. Social and was waving to all his friends (of all ages) walking by all through our lunch. He's also super popular on the bus and often sits with the 4th and 5th graders. There was one day all the kids were fighting over sitting with him. I have no idea what he does to merit that kind of attention. Russell says he's the only kindergartner on the bus so that's why he's so famous. 😂
Russell's day!
Royalty day at school. They have a whole ABC countdown to the end in kindergarten. Thomas is lucky that Russell loves helping him with his costumes.
Russell's sugar cube temple he made for a church activity. We're so excited about the new temple coming to Tampa! https://www.wfla.com/news/hillsborough-county/latter-day-saints-announce-new-tampa-temple-4th-in-florida/
Picking more blueberries with dad one night after work.
Mother's Day was such a treat. The kids and Ricardo planned so many fun things. We did get together with Ricardo's family on Saturday night to have dinner together and celebrate his mom and that was lots of fun. Then, it was nice to have Sunday to stay at home together with just our family. They were so excited to give me their gifts and cards when I woke up. They also helped make brunch after church and both boys cleaned their room and other parts of the house as another gift to me-they know what I really like! Russell also made "pin the tail on the manatee" (my favorite animal). They are the sweetest.
Ricardo made another delicous cheesecake for me too! Doesn't get much better than that for Mother's Day!
Russell turned 9 last week! He had a great birthday and my mom came up for the day to be there too, which was so nice. Russell continues to be such a joy-always with a positive atittude, up for anything, the true definition of having a zest for life. We're so blessed to have him in our family.
Russell had a fun birthday party this weekend. We rented a water slide and it was a big hit.
Last pictures taken today! Our garden has been going overall well, except for some crops which were destroyed by caterpillars. We are learning and have new ideas for next year. But we're currently harvesting lots and lots of tomatoes!
Hope you are having a great spring, wherever you are!
