Time is flying by as usual with these kiddos. Summer is over and lately, it feels like fall is already over too and winter is here. It's been freezing!
Here's a recap of the warmer parts of fall...
Ricardo's parents came to visit in September. We enjoyed lots of fruit picking as usual and the kids had a great time having their grandparents around.
Caroline thinks she is a big kid now.
Making forts with her brothers
It's so nice that Russell can read to Thomas now.
It comes in handy lots of places!
His new thing is reading for a little while after Thomas falls asleep. He's great about not staying up too late so it has been a win-win for everyone!
Thomas having fun pretending that Russell is his baby.
I got to go on a field trip with Russell for the first time. They went to a local high school and got to screen print their own school t-shirts and take a group photo in front of a green screen, etc. Lots of fun! Although, riding the bus might have been one of the main highlights for them.
Thomas has a little preschool group this year with friends which has been fun. We went on a "field trip" to the local pumpkin patch and had a great time.
Russell's school had a color run and Thomas and I went to run with him. Thomas ran over a mile, which definitely exceeded my expectations. It was lots of fun. On the walk home we played in the leaves for awhile and they absolutely loved it. It was the perfect fall day.
We had a great Halloween. It is awesome that my kids are still excited about doing a group costume. This year they were so excited to be the Avengers. We had a trunk or treat at church and also went to a work party that night so we got good use out of our costumes.
Baby Hulk!
Is it normal that the 3rd child is incredibly active? Caroline is truly nuts sometimes. So cute but soooo busy. She really can't make it through church and we are counting down the days until she can go to nursery, although it's still months away. She loves to come sit in the chairs and have snacks when she picks up Thomas though.
14 months and thinks she can ride a scooter! Someone give me tips on how to manage this. :)
Ricardo was traveling to Florida for a conference last week and he suggested that he bring Caroline, since she can travel for free. He is truly dad/husband of the year because he offered to bring her to make my life easier when he was gone for a week. I was resistant to the idea because I am a hovering mom at times, but eventually came around to it and it turned out to be great. She got to meet some aunts/uncles/cousins she has never met before and hang out with both sets of grandparents while Ricardo was in meetings. Ricardo gets lots of points for traveling with this super busy toddler (see above). At least she slept on the redeye there.
Causing mischief at my mom's house.
My parents took Caroline trick or treating and so she got a second costume for this Halloween season. She and my dad were Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat.
Her first trip to the beach! In November! Florida is the best.
She has limited girl toys so I am happy she got to play with her girl cousins.
Meanwhile, back at home, I had a great week with the boys. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with them and to have a little more freedom in where and what we could do without toting around a baby. I even got 2 hours to myself to go shopping while Thomas was at preschool. But, we did miss her a lot and her brothers were thrilled when she came back!
Carving pumpkins. Thomas was very much into removing all of the insides and Russell didn't want anything to do with it. Pretty typical of their personalities.
Russell is really into making an intense face for every photo lately.
We had a fun (and cold) night of trick or treating.
Thomas helping me clean before Ricardo came home. He currently thinks mopping is a fun game so I will let him keep believing that!
Happy fall!
I love the headlamp idea. Perhaps a future present for our kids. So fun that your dad enjoys dressing up and convenient they were able to watch Caroline while Ricardo was at a conference. Hope Ricardo got some good bonding time with her. How fun that Russell had a color run!
