Holiday Catch-up

It's almost overwhelming to look back and see how much has happened over the past 3 months. We had some busy but fun holidays and are currently enjoying life at a little slower pace. Here's a recap of Nov-Jan:

My dad and I ran a race together in Savannah. He ran a marathon and I ran a half but our first 11 miles were together and we ran them together which was really fun!

Waiting for Grandpa in Forsyth Park:

We also had some awesome Miami friends come stay with us while they were job hunting here in early November, but I missed taking any photos of any of us or our kids somehow! It's always fun seeing old friends and we enjoyed having them!!

A few weeks later I headed with my kids to Charleston for a long weekend while Ricardo was out of town. My good friend who lives in AZ was staying with her sister in Charleston, who was kind enough to host both of us for a few days. Between us all we have 6 little boys and we had fun touring a southern plantation and just hanging out.

Water machine at Costco=very entertaining.

Russell's preschool did a cute Thanksgiving program. I don't think the real pilgrims were as cute as this.

My sister and her family came down from DC for Thanksgiving! We hosted them here for a few days and then we all headed to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner.

Lots of cousin book reading parties:

Surprisingly, minimal fighting over toys.

And some fun outdoor exploring:

An afternoon at the local candy store:

We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and on Friday my parents were kind enough to take us all to their local children's museum.

After saying goodbye to cousins we started getting ready for Christmas. Tree shopping:

Ricardo had a birthday and I threw him a semi surprise party (I told him the day of and I didn't tell him who was invited). Everyone brought their favorite chips/dip (his favorite food) and we had a packed house and a great time. One of our friends drew him this picture which was probably his favorite birthday gift.

Birthday fudge on his actual birthday:

We went to a military Christmas party for Ricardo's unit. They had cute presents for the kids and it was fun to meet Ricardo's friends and their families.

We enjoyed lots of Christmas crafts and treats. Russell had a fun class party with a book exchange and all the kids came to school in PJs.

I was in charge (with lots of help) of our church Christmas party. We did a night in Bethlehem theme and it was a lot of fun.

My brother came in town in December so we met up with him and my mom at a museum in Daytona. The boys loved playing with their uncle.

We spent Christmas with Ricardo's family this year and he had the idea of renting a cabin in the mountains so he found a great place near Asheville NC and we all headed up there for Christmas. It was beautiful and we all had a great time!

Santa and his elves hand delivered some gifts:

We toured the Biltmore House (with 11 kids)!!

We came home and the boys were thrilled to get to stay up late and watch Cars 3.

The next few weeks were a whirlwind of Ricardo and I going on a youth trek as Ma and Pa (it was fun but cold!!) and coming home for New Year's just in time for me get the flu which knocked me out for almost 10 days. It's so nice to be healthy again!! Luckily the boys stayed healthy.

Russell got a bean plant at school which is growing like crazy. He didn't get my black thumb.

Ricardo got a horseback riding Groupon for me for my birthday back in August but we could never find time to go. We just barely went right before it expired. It was a fun date!

Russell's preschool does a "snow day" each year. There were lots of activities and fun things to do. Thomas got to come too and they both had a blast!

This funny little boy has a birthday coming up this week! Hard to believe he will be 2 already. He thinks he's 4, of course, and copies everything his older brother does.

Just a healthy amount of OCD :)
