Traveling Whirlwind

Life has been pretty busy since my last posting. It seems like every weekend has been accounted for over the past few months, which has been fun, but crazy. It's been a lot of fun to write this post and think back over all we were able to do and all the great friends and family we were able to see this spring!

We took our first trip to Disney in March with old friends from Philly. We left Thomas with my parents for the day and headed to Hollywood Studios with just one child. It was a treat for all of us! Thomas earned his keep by washing cars while we were gone.

As for the rest of us, we all enjoyed Russell's first day at Disney and reuniting with good friends. He was a bit traumatized after riding the Tower of Terror (oops), but he loved everything else.

His favorite parts of the day were meeting his favorite characters. It was really fun to see how excited he was. Disney is truly magical.

In April we headed to Savannah so I could run a half marathon with a good friend of mine. We loved Savannah and had a great weekend trip there. The race was absolutely beautiful and took us through all of the historic neighborhoods there. So fun!

Thomas chowing down on some fried chicken at Paula Deen's the night before the race.

Ricardo and the boys met us along the race which was fun. Here we are at the finish!

Post race ice cream is essential

We fully intended on moving onto this street in Savannah, but then we looked up the price...

We spent Easter with Ricardo's family. Russell had a blast with all of his cousins. We went down for the long weekend and went to the beach and also enjoyed a few Easter egg hunts and 2 delicious feasts.

Cousins constructing a mer-man.

Sand cupcakes-yum!

(Dying Easter eggs before we left home for the trip) :

We were having some friends come in to Orlando after Easter so I stayed at my parents' house and we had more Easter fun. Thomas finally got the hang of the egg hunt on the 3rd try, mostly because he realized there were fruit snacks inside.

We went downtown one day and visited my dad at work. The kids were mesmerized by the view.

We got to see these wonderful friends from Miami that week! It's been many years since we've seen them since we both moved out of FL, so it was so fun to reunite and meet all of the cute kiddos. We missed Ricardo (he was being responsible and working) but we had a great day at the splash pad/park before they headed home.

Some of our dear friends from Philly came to visit, so we all stayed with my kind parents and enjoyed the beach and Disney for a few days. Russell has been looking forward to this week all year and we had a great time!

Thomas also got to reunite with his baby buddy. Digging holes is the good life.

Other highlights recently included a local shrimp/pirate festival. Russell enjoyed entering the little pirates contest and having his face painted like Spiderman. Ricardo and I enjoyed eating delicious shrimp.

These three are always up to some shenanigans...

Especially this one..he is quite independent and recently learned how to climb onto the kitchen table. After much reprimanding he has stopped doing it but he still thinks he is big enough to sit with us and eat out of our bowls. He would rather NOT eat than be fed by an adult (could explain his tiny size!) Luckily he is getting better at feeding himself so he is eating a lot more than he ever has.

But he is too cute so we can't stay mad for too long.

Russell got his first pet as a gift from his awesome church teacher. His name is Daniel Tiger (because Daniel Tiger has a pet fish) and he is beloved by all of us. Thomas likes barking at him. We also recently added another fish to the mix because Ricardo thought our fish should have a friend, and so far it's working out. If you say the word 'fish' Thomas will run to the kitchen and try to climb a chair so he can bark at the fish.

Summer is coming so we are enjoying the pool and the beach often.

We also went to our zoo for the first time with some friends. Both boys loved it. And of course Thomas barked at everything he saw.

My parents and sister stopped through recently on the way to Georgia and Russell had fun playing with Aunt Cass.

Next up is this sweet boy's 4th birthday, which is hard to believe. He is so fun and clever and we think he is the best kid around. We are excited to celebrate 4 years of parenthood!
