Ricardo travels about once every other month for his ASDA responsibilities. Usually I have grand aspirations about all of the things I'm going to accomplish while he's gone and then somehow I end up spending all of the nights eating cookies and watching Gilmore Girls. But I turned over a new leaf this summer and during Ricardo's weekend away in July, Russell and I ended up doing a lot of fun things and the weekend flew by! Luckily we had some friends to hang out with because Alisha's husband was studying for board exams and she and Nathan generously took us to to the Philadelphia Zoo and Longwood Gardens.
Russell loved the zoo! I didn't snap too many pictures while we were there but he had just gotten the hang of pointing at everything and he loved pointing at all of the animals all morning long. The monkeys were a big hit, the lions were a little scary, and the swimming polar bears were really cool. We had a great time.
The next day we went to Longwood Gardens. I wasn't sure what Russell would think about walking around gardens all day long, but he loved it. At the end we took the boys to the children's garden which included lots of opportunities to get wet and they had a blast. It was a lot of fun to see them playing together.
They were both pretty soaked by the end.
I love this one of them both pointing at a waterfall
Every once in awhile they would glance over at each other as if to say, "oh yeah, you're still here."

I love seeing our boys together! I've been meaning to blog about this same weekend and you've motivated to finally get it done.
