11 months and counting

Russell is doing so many fun things lately, I really felt like I needed to write them down today so I don't forget! He is 11 months old today and is such a sweetheart. Ricardo is taking finals this week and next week so Russell and I have been hanging out a lot. We've had a lot of fun. Things he is doing lately:

* Making a mess! he is loving opening up cabinets and drawers and emptying out all the contents. Our house is only clean at 8 pm, but it's ok

* Chatting, mostly mamama and dadada and some really high pitched screams (usually joyfu!l)

* Clapping his hands, which is so cute. I have been trying to teach him to wave bye bye but to no avail yet. Sometimes when I wave at him he starts clapping, like he knows he needs to do a trick so he just does what he knows how to do

* Playing in the bathroom-he knows how to work the faucets in the bath and how to flush the toilet and if I ever keep the door to the bathroom open he goes right there and starts doing one of those two things. He really really loves both of those activities

* Climbing the bottom step of the stairs. He sometimes has a hard time getting down so he just waits for me to come get him

* Eating all kinds of food. He really enjoys "real food" and is starting to protest baby food, usually by spitting (gross). Random thing he loves is little pieces of croutons. Also loves black beans, true to his Brazilian roots

* Wriggles away every time I try to change his diaper. He thinks escaping is a game!

* Gives us hugs!

The weather has been nice (finally) so we went to the playground near our house. He hates the swing I found out. He started crying and trying to climb out soon after I snapped these pictures.

 Brushing teeth with Dad in the morning. He is finally letting us brush his few teeth and seems to enjoy it! He opens his mouth when he sees the brush!

Russell was ready for this picture, Ricardo wasn't. So glad we can go on walks again! Yay for warmer weather.

Life is good, we are so grateful for this little bundle of joy. It's so hard to believe I was 8 months pregnant this time last year. Happy 11 months Russell!
