On the move!

Our little baby is rapidly approaching toddler-hood and it is so fun to see him grow and progress! BUT I also don't want him to grow at the same time. Being a mother is so conflicting! Russell is a lot of fun and constantly entertains us. He is SO wiggly and is crawling everywhere now at lightning speed. He also loves to stand up via the couch or the coffee table and strengthen his leg muscles. I'm sure I will blink and he will be walking.

He is curious about everything. He loves opening every drawer and cabinet in the house, makes a beeline to the bathroom if you take your eye off him for a second (not sure why), and is starting to want to play with his trucks and trains, which is so cute. He is very social and friendly, loves seeing other kids his age, though at the same time has recently developed some stranger anxiety and has been extra clingy. This is mostly just endearing, though I long ago lost hope in really getting much cooking, cleaning, laundry done while he's awake. But that's ok. He is cute.

Happy Valentine's Day! Here's what was waiting for me when I came home from a 24 hour shift that I worked due to blizzard conditions. Grr winter. Silver lining, I got to be home on Valentine's Day and hang out with my two favorite boys.

Climbing out of the highchair because I left him in there for 2 seconds after he finished eating. No lazing around after dinner around here.

                     Really?

Very occasionally he sits still. How cute is that face?

Even more occasionally, he sleeps during the day. Though he continues to be a great nighttime sleeper so I can't complain!

I apologize for the less than superb quality of pictures. Every time he is sitting still and looking cute and I pull out the camera, this is what happens:

He has two teeth now so we started brushing! But he doesn't really want help...

Bath time lately...he really does not lose his fascination with the faucets day after day and insists on doing this for 5 minutes before he is willing to sit down.He knows how to turn on the water but only uses the hot side so we have to be careful!

                                         Love those big brown eyes.

If you haven't seen the news it has been very cold in the northeast this year! Ricardo was excited to use a real fireplace. Russell was excited too.

Have you noticed most of my pictures are when he's in the highchair? It's literally the only time he sits still! Until he's bored of eating of course. :)

Always very happy to be picked up from his crib after sleeping

Teething...only 2 so far!

We love this little boy and are so happy to have him around. Quick update on Ricardo and I in case anyone reading this is doing so for any reason beyond Russell. Ricardo is busy busy with school, just went to LA for a conference for the American Student Dental Association and got elected to be on the board of trustees of the organization. That means more weekends away this year but we're excited for this opportunity! I've been busy working and chasing around little man. Next week is Ricardo's spring break and I took some vacation days for it so we're excited to get to spend a little time together. Hoping the weather cooperates! Even 40 degrees sounds good right now!
