August catchup

Wow, another month has flown by, I can't believe it! Russell is almost 4 months old. People aren't lying when they say it goes by fast! We had a great and fun-filled August and are now back to real life. Ricardo's in school, I'm working, and all of our visitors have gone home. Here's what we did in August!

Our good friend Stuart came to visit us because he had a work conference here in Philly. We went to one of our favorite local parks and did some hiking and the boys did some swimming. Russell and I opted out because the water is freezing! I miss my bathtub Florida water.

        Russell grew bigger and bigger!

We had a lot of family come in town for Russell's blessing at church. Our house was packed! Luckily we moved at the beginning of the month and have a lot more space now. We went to Amish country with both of our families and had a great time both days. Here we are with Ricardo's parents.

Here's the whole group after Russell's blessing on Sunday. It was so special to have Russell blessed by his dad and for everyone to be there.

Four generations. So fun to have my grandma there!

Cousins meeting for the first time. These two are only six weeks apart.

They weren't that thrilled.

Plus they didn't even seem to notice each other. Oh, well.

We took family pictures with everyone but haven't gotten the official ones back yet. We are excited to see them! Here are just a few we snapped before heading home from the park.

Fake smile just like his Dad sometimes

The three look alikes. Someone was sick of pictures by now...

We took everyone on a tour of Philly after pictures. We saw the Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, Reading Terminal market, ate cheesesteaks, saw the new temple site, and of course the art museum. It was a beautiful day.

In the midst of everything Russell turned 3 months old so we took some sock monkey pictures, none of which turned out great. But he is starting to play with the monkey more now. He's so big!

We headed to DC the next weekend for my sister's baby blessing. We did some sightseeing at Antietam with my family. It's a Civil War site and it was really cool!

Me and my Grandma.

Poor uncle Trent. He loves his nephews so much and he got pooped on by both little boys at some point during the trip. Babies are hazardous.

Other events in August: on the 21st we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. I'm bad and didn't get a picture of the two of us but Ricardo made us a delicious BBQ which we enjoyed in our yard. Yay for four happy years together.

This week I turned 26. It was a pretty low-key birthday. Ricardo had school but I wasn't working so I enjoyed spending all day with my sweet Russell. Ricardo made me a delicious dinner again (he's a keeper) as well as cake and we enjoyed hanging out after Russell went to bed.

We are grateful for our wonderful life and our beautiful baby! Life couldn't be better.
