Fall Update

Happy almost Thanksgiving! Since my last post, we have been enjoying our first northeastern fall! It has been beautiful, although the temperature is not quite as warm as we'd like! I guess that's the price you pay for leaves changing colors.

Ricardo has been enjoying his first semester of school and we're excited that it has gone by so fast! In other news, I finally got to start working a few weeks ago! I am really enjoying my job and I love my coworkers. I work literally a mile away from Ricardo's school and we are so grateful that I was able to find such an amazing job. It has been such a blessing already.

The weekend before Halloween we headed to Maryland to visit my sister and family. We had a great time hanging out with them! We spent a few hours on Saturday morning watching the kids play soccer and later that night we had a BBQ/bonfire/pumpkin carving party at my sister's in-law's house. It's so fun to see our nieces and live so close to my sister. We are excited to spend Thanksgiving with them!

Watching 2 year olds play soccer is particularly entertaining

My favorite, S'mores! Everyone else just wanted chocolate.

Taking the pumpkin carving very seriously.

                                                    Hard at work!

                                                          The finished products!

                                                      Ours was the witch.

The first weekend in November Ricardo got to go to Chicago for a leadership conference for school. He had an incredible time and is now obsessed with coming back to Chicago for a visit.

The group from his school that got to go.

His favorite memories from the trip are of the delicious food that they had.

For Halloween we went to Chipotle, our favorite Halloween tradition! They gave you a $2 burrito if you came in costume. We went with some dental school friends and had to wait about an hour, but it was totally worth it!

                                               Lucy and Ricardo, of course.

We went with some bank robbers and cowboys (he really is a cowboy though, so he  wasn't quite "in costume").

This past weekend we went camping! Luckily the weather warmed up for the weekend and sleeping outside wasn't too painful. Jake (our cowboy friend from above) has a ton of repelling equipment and we went repelling in a state park. It was lots of fun! That night we had a great time making delicious food and chatting.

Ricardo went down the cliff before me so I have tons of great pictures of him and there are none of me! I did it too though, I promise.

Jake had a camping grill he wanted to use, but he thought it came assembled in the box. We spent about half an hour putting it together in the dark. Good times...

                                                     The fun Madsens!

                                                         All of us

I think I'm all caught up on our life now. We didn't have any problems when Hurricane Sandy hit and for that we are very grateful. Life has been great lately and we are looking forward to the holidays!!
