Happy Easter!! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We thought we'd take this time to update on the last few holidays, since it's been awhile. :)
For Valentine's Day we made fondue for dinner. My family always has this for Christmas Eve, so we thought we'd keep up the tradition, just a little late. We had cheese for dinner and chocolate for dessert and it was YUMMY. We had a great time spending the day together and taking a little break from our busy life.
For St. Patrick's Day we wore green (so hard for Kylie :), made Shepherd's Pie, and green pistachio cake for dessert. I made that cake two years ago with my good friend Lindsey for St. Patrick's Day and I remembered it so fondly that I thought my husband deserved to have it too. He is quickly beginning to love all of my holiday festivities, because it always means good food!
Today we celebrated Easter by attending General Conference, making my mom's Easter rolls, and dying Easter eggs. Ricardo has NEVER dyed Easter eggs. I was just as appalled as those of you reading this probably are. I guess it's just not a Brazilian tradition, but he was definitely converted today.
Besides celebrating all of these big events, we have been busy with life. It has been crazy trying to balance school, work, our calling, studying for the DAT (he is taking it in 6 short weeks!), training for my half marathon and his marathon, figuring out plans for moving to Florida, and on top of all that...we are now the proud co-owners of Provo's first tackle football league. Ricardo had this crazy idea back in September when BYU beat Oklahoma. A bunch of our friends were talking about how they wished they could still play and he decided it might be fun to try to make that happen. He talked to our neighbor back at Wymount and they started working on their little project. They made a website and started advertising online and around BYU campus just to see if they could garner any interest. Ironically, neither Peter nor Ricardo knew much at all about football, but they hired some knowledgeable referees to take care of all the football rules that they knew nothing about. Now, a few short months and a lot of hard work later, we are actually having games! It has been exciting and fun to see it all come together for them and it's definitely been a good experience to be exposed to the world of business. They're nowhere close to being millionaires, but they're having a great time brainstorming ideas for the league's future and watching the games every week has been a blast.
I know I say this every time, but life could not be better. We are so incredibly blessed. We love and miss all of our friends and family who are far away and...
P.S. My sister Shannon just gave birth to her second baby! Her name is Taeryn Hannah Graham and we are so excited to have another niece! Congratulations Matt and Shannon!
Yes yes yes! Help them see the light! Holiday traditions are the best! From what I can tell, they don't really have traditions other than Christmas. I personally love any excuse for celebration though. Haha.
ReplyDeleteSo what happened to the football league when you moved? I guess that could be something you answer over dinner sometime. :)
