Inaugurational Post

Due to popular demand, we have decided to create our very own blog. We're thinking this will force us to take more pictures (or steal pictures of ourselves that other people take). :)

Lots of eventful stuff has happened this week. First, we finally got our wedding photos! We immediately went shopping for some picture frames and finished decorating our house. For those of you who haven't seen the pictures yet, our photographer's website is jleighphoto.com and the event code is kyliericardo. Below are some of our favorites!

Second, we had our first family disaster last night. We came home from dinner at Andrew and Carrie's and Ricardo decided he wanted some french fries. So we set a pot of oil to boil while we got ready to go to Ashley and Lane's to carve pumpkins. Suddenly we remembered about the oil when we saw smoke emanating from the kitchen! Kylie turned off the stove and instantly the pot burst into flames. There was smoke everywhere and our fire alarm was blaring and all we could do was bring our flaming pot onto our front porch and look at it. Half of our ward walked by or shouted to us to see if everything was okay and after watching the fire for about 10 minutes we were able to put it out. Anyway, we're fine, the pot's not so fine, and our apartment finally smells okay 24 hours later. We were quite dedicated to the cause of airing out our apartment so we slept with all of the windows open in 40 degree weather. Thanks for the blankets Mom!

Lastly, we carved our first pumpkin together. Ashley and Lane kindly bought us a pumpkin and we all carved our hearts out last night, with Ashley's mom in town supervising. Theirs turned out to be a lot more frightening than ours, but we think ours will be more of a hit with the three year olds that live next door. His name is Jerome, if any of you were wondering.

That pretty much sums up our lives for this week. Life is great, we love you all. -The Fontouras

The evil pot.

It used to be stainless steel. Now it's tempered steel. With sludge inside.
