Milestone Week

I'm sure those of you who read my blog are shocked that this is my third post this month, but I am really getting into the blogging thing lately because so much has been going on in our lives and I want to record it well! This week was no exception. On Tuesday, the 21st, we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. I had to work that day, but we decided to make our favorite BBQ chicken pizza (thanks Jocelyn ) and have a picnic at night. There is a really cool spot by our house that overlooks the whole city. Well, when I got home we made the pizza and put it in the oven. Ten minutes went by, then twenty, then thirty, and this thing was not baking. The cheese was not even melting at all. After about an hour, we finally realized that our oven was broken. It was heating up a little bit, only from the pilot light within the oven. By this time it was getting dark and so we decided to pull out our toaster oven (thanks Whitney ) and we proceeded to cut our unbaked pizza into slices and cook...

Getting to know Philadelphia

We have officially been in Philly for 3 weeks as of tomorrow and so far, so good! We have better access to the internet for the first time in a long time, so I am trying to use that to my advantage and blog more often! Since we moved, I have been finishing my final rotation of PA school at a local emergency room. 3 days left and then off to Florida for graduation! Meanwhile, Ricardo has been busy taking care of our house and all the little errands that come with moving across country. He has also finished multiple books and is now to the point that he is ready to start school! I'm sure he will be singing a different tune in a few weeks. :) We are starting to learn a little more about the area and we have been able to take some time to go on some adventures. Luckily we've met some nice people that have been willing to show us around! Here is the view from our living room window. It reminds me that Philadelphia can be pretty! Two weekends ago Ricardo and I ventured do...

Change of Address

Since our last post, we have pretty much been consumed with our impending move to Philadelphia, which has now come and gone (crazy!). In June and July, we tried to enjoy Florida as much as we could before we left for the cold north! One weekend we took a mini-vacation to the Florida Keys with our great Miami friends. We went camping on Friday and sailing on a catamaran on Saturday. It was so much fun! Ricardo and I enjoying the tropical fruits we collected while camping Mango fanatics Ricardo and Dustan making fire the old-fashioned way, via the cigarette lighter from our car All of us about to embark on our journey. Unfortunately, there was NO wind that day and we rented the tiniest catamaran because we are cheap. See below... We ended up being pushed/pulled most of the way by our husbands and also, never quite made it our to the coral reef. Still fun times! Ricardo and I enjoying the paradise that is Florida  We left Miami at the end of July. ...
